It’s a good thing we got the greenhouse done before the wind kicked up That’s what my Dad said. We’re so lucky our family keeps on growing. That’s what my Mom said. You’re old enough to help clean up the dishes now, That’s what Aunt Jen said. It may be years before we find a way back. That’s what Aunt Marsha said. Take an extra heap of Hoppin John for Luck That’s what Aunt Marsha’s Dad said. I hope someday you’ll see snow little man That’s what Aunt Julia said. I wish your grandma could see us all together sharing supper. That’s what my grandad said. I think this year’s better than All the other years before. 3507OA39

The branch fell on a Sunday, From a night of hard wind and grey snow and ice. So Father and Marsha and I Chopped enough wood to see through till springtime. Later in summer I climbed to discover A starling had gathered a nest in the hollow Father had left in the first weeks of April; I wanted to crumble the eggs in my fingers. 3707OA39

The End 07:09
I want you there when the sun rises. I want you there when it sets. When I draw the blinds in the dusk of this world, I want you there at the end. If I take your hand once more in that final golden And all the trials that came before seem merely moments And in time, we all will find our rest, I hope to have your hand in mind when I go walking west. I want you there when the sun rises. I want you there when it sets. When the light goes out on this tired old world, I want you there at the end. 3907OA40

about

We Gathered at Wakerobin Hollow is a four hour, forty song cycle, being released in nine Chapters every two months from August 2018-December 2019.

In Year 39-40, safe among family and friends in his home, six-year-old Christopher tries to make sense of his rapidly changing world. But unmitigated climate change with increasingly volatile weather, and a militarized authoritarian government threaten the sanctity of Wakerobin Hollow. This chapter, told through the eyes of this young child, filtered and abstracted by his naiveté, joy, and fear, brings us to the conclusion of Book 001.
